also just kind of watching anime and observing helps a lot. And not all female characters have to be drawn with huge boobs and curves, like maka from soul eater. it just depends on your style and the character. so really, the most diffrence is in the facial features and the eyes and hair (though my characters have very similar eyes anyways whether they're female or not XD)
